How to set up a stock item?

If you offer additional services or items to guests which you want to charge to guests' invoices, you need to set the items up as stock items. These items could include dinners, game drives, airport transfers etc.

Open the NightsBridge Setup program

Please look at our articles on Setup if you need more information on how to do this.

Click on Setup Stock

Click on Add Stock.

  1. Add a Stock Name for the item.
  2. Put in the Price of the stock item.
  3. Set Active to Yes.

Choose a VAT code

If your property has been marked as VAT registered in your Setup, you will be able to change the VAT code setting.

  • Choose Default from the Vat Code's drop down list if you charge VAT on the stock item.
  • Choose VAT Exempt from the Vat Code's drop down list if you do not charge VAT on the stock item.

Add a General Ledger (GL) or stock code

Do you have a Point of Sale (POS) system or Account software integrated with NightsBridge?

Leave Stock Code blank.

  • This field is how NightsBridge matches the stock code from your POS.
  • Put the stock code relating to this stock item into Stock Code.
  • This field is how NightsBridge export the data to your accounting software so the system knows what stock items have been invoiced.
  • Put the GL code relating to this stock item into GL Sales code.

Save the changes.

Save and publish the changes

  1. Click on Menu.
  2. Click to Publish the changes.
Congratulations, you are done!
