How to add a Close Out to block arrival and departure dates

You can block certain dates for arrival and departur, while still allowing guests to stay over the dates.  

An example of this usage would be if are willing to accommodate guests over New Years day but do not want guests to arrive or depart on New Years day. Guests would still be able to arrive and depart before or after New Years day ,but not on New Years day.
The Close Out can be applied to all or specific room types and rate sheets.

A Close Out will block out availability online, but the dates on your calendar (what you would see) will still appear as available.

This type of Close Out is sent to the following channels:

  • Own Website - using the NightsBridge booking form
  • Booking.com
  • Expedia
  • Airbnb

All other channels will show that you're bookable on the date that you've closed for arrival and or departure.

If you cannot accommodate bookings on the given date, it is recommended to create a full close out.

Click on Close Outs

Add the Close Out

Click on Add to create the Close Out.

Add a name and select the type of Close Out

  1. Add the 'Close Out Name'.
  2. Select the 'Type of Close Out' from the drop-down menu.
    Your options are:
    • Closed for Arrival and Departure - No arrivals and departures on the selected date.
    • Closed for Arrival - Guests cannot arrive on these days.
    • Closed for Departure - Guests cannot depart on these days.

In this example we want to close both arrivals and departures.

Choose the validity dates of the Close Out

  1. Click on the calendar button next to the date to select the 'Valid From' date.
  2. Click on the calendar button next to the date to select the 'Valid To' date.
  3. Tick the boxes on the days or the week if you want the close out to apply to specific Days of the week only.  
    These need to align with the dates selected. In this case, only Christmas day is closed off. It falls on a Wednesday in 2024 and so Wednesday is selected.

Select the rate sheet and the room types that the Close Out will apply to and save

  1. Choose which Rate Sheet you want the close out to apply to.
  2. Select the Room Type you would like to apply the close out to or leave it as All to apply it to all room types.
  3. Click 'Save'.

Check your Close Out and edit if necessary

  • View your Close Out in the list. In this example you can see the Christmas Day Close Out has added.
  • Click on the Close Out to edit or delete it if needed
  • Click on 'Exit' to return to the Setup menu.

Publish your change

Click 'Publish' to upload your Close Out.

View your Close Out on your NightsBridge calendar

  1. Open your NightsBridge calendar.
  2. Choose the Room Type view.  Any room types with a Close Out will be highlighted.
  3. Find the correct date.
  4. Hover over the room type to see the type of Close Out which is in place.
