A package deal is when you offer extras that will be included in the guest's accommodation to add value for the guest without necessarily lowering your rate. For the special rate package, the guest is not required to stay more than one night to book the package.
It is useful to include extras which previous guests have asked for so you know they will be valued by your guests. The extras can also relate to the theme of the package e.g. Braai Day hamper.
Open your NightsBridge Setup
Please look at our tutorial on how to find your NightsBridge Setup if you need more information on how to do that.
Click on Specials & Packages
Click on Add
Name and describe your package
- Put in the Name of Package or Special. This is what will appear on the internet advertising your package, so make it descriptive and attractive.
- Type in a Description as it will be read by online guests. This will be displayed on the internet. The description and should explain what your special entails and what's required to book it
Enter the validity dates for the special
When a guest searches for availability on a date that falls on or between your validity dates, your special will appear. If a guest searches on dates that fall outside these dates, your special will not appear.
- Use the calendar on the drop down arrow to choose a Valid From date. This the date the package is available from.
- Use the calendar on the drop down arrow to choose Valid Until date. This is the date your package ends.
Your special can be booked for arrival on the Valid Until date . If the stay extends beyond the Valid Until date, only the first night of the stay will be discounted.
Create a Package Code
A package code is used when you apply the special rate to a client in your calendar.
- Type in a unique Package Code which easily identifies your package.
Choose where to display your package
You can display your package on your website only or on your website and most of the partner websites. We cannot display your specials on the extranet websites e.g. Booking.com, Airbnb
For Own Site Only:
- Choose No if you want the special to display on your own website and most of the partner websites (e.g. SA Places, Sleeping Out, Rooms for Africa etc.).
- Choose Yes if you want the special to display on your own website only.
Add a photo
- You can also add a photo, which will display on the booking engine when the guest lands there.
- Choose a good quality photo that brings the package to life. A great photo can really make the difference and encourage more bookings.

Choose the Special Rate package type
Tick the Special Rate option.
Update which arrivals days the special is valid
If your special only applies for arrivals on certain days of the week, you can update this.
- Leave the days ticked in Valid for arrivals on for all days which the special is applicable.
- Untick the days in Valid for arrivals on for all days which the special not applicable.
In this example, our package is valid for arrivals on weekends only.
Select Room Types
Tick which room types the special applies to.
Select Rate sheet
- Select a rate sheet you would like to have the discounted special to apply to. In this example we want the special to apply to the RACK rate sheet only.
- Click to Set Rates.
Enter rates for this room type
The rate type (per unit or per person sharing) is based on your selection in your Setup.
- Type in your discounted rate. There is no automatic discounting of rates.
- Click Save.
Repeat this for each selected room type.
Save your changes
- Click to Save your changes.
- Click to Exit.
Publish your changes
Click to Publish your changes.
Check that you are happy with the rates you have entered
Your current and future Specials and Packages show in the "View Rates" section of your booking form.
Capture a few test bookings to make sure you are happy with the special rates you have entered.
