How to write Room Type descriptions

Room Type Descriptions are read by guests when booking on your website and through channels.

Accurate, appealing room type descriptions will make it easy for your guests to find what they're looking to book.

Please look at our article on how to set up Room Types if you need more information on this.

Use these guidelines to create your Room Type Description

  • Always include the type of room, and type of bed(s) e.g. king that can be converted to twin single, queen, bunk bed.
  • Include the bathroom configuration e.g. bath and shower, bath only, shower only, and mention if it is shared or private.
  • If possible, include a unique feature statement which entices the guest and sets the scene.
  • Highlight your key amenities only, as the full list is indicated separately.
  • Mention any additional feature of the room which appeals to your guests e.g. parking.
  • Minimise the use of capital letters as some channels will error if you use too many.
