How to group your room types on Airbnb

To successfully market your property online, your rooms/units should be presented in the same way across all the channels they are listed on.

It is important to understand how grouping the rooms within the same room type on NightsBridge, impacts your Airbnb listing/s.

Decide how to present your rooms

First decide how best to list your rooms/units on your primary channel. This is the channel that generates the highest volume of online bookings for your property.

Then set up your rooms/units on NightsBridge, and apply the same setup to your listings on all the other channels.

Group rooms under room types for all channels

The general recommendation is to group rooms that are the same (type of bed and bathroom, features, pricing) under the same room type, which will be bookable online by guests.

Grouping rooms has many benefits:

  • Easier for the guest to compare different room types.
  • Fewer room types for the property to manage.
  • Your offer is consistent across all your channels.

Impact if Airbnb is the primary channel

Airbnb is set up with each listing on its own separate page. Guests can only book one room/unit at a time on Airbnb.

If you identify Airbnb as the primary channel for your property, it is beneficial for each room to be listed in its own room type.

Whichever you choose, please ensure that the grouping of rooms to room types is the same on all your channels and NightsBridge.

Keep in mind that when setting up each individual room as a room type, the other channels (except Airbnb) will display all the room types on one page.
This can be overwhelming for guests, as they'll see a room type for each physical room, making a decision on a choice more difficult.

Pros and cons of grouping rooms under 1 room type.
