TravelIT: How the connection works

This tutorial will provide an outline on TravelIT bookings, policies, payments and invoicing when connected to NightsBridge.

About
  • TravelIT is a B2B (business-to-business) booking system which independent travel agents and agencies access to book accommodation for their clients. 
Who books here?
  • Agents who book on behalf of their corporate clients.
How to sign up
 
  • You can request and monitor your connection request on the Links Manager.
  • TravelIT will complete the connection. Please check the Links Manager to see when the status changes to 'YOUR LINK IS ACTIVE WITH THIS SITE'.
Bookings
  • Instant bookings are made by TravelIT through NightsBridge and will either be confirmed with a voucher or cancelled within 24 to 36 hours of being booked. 
  • Same-day bookings will either be confirmed with a voucher or cancelled within 6 hours of being made.
  • If a booking is not confirmed with a voucher or cancelled by TravelIT within the time frame mentioned above, you can cancel the booking on your calendar to free up availability.
Content: Listing
 
  • TravelIT does not accept campsite room types.
  • TravelIT uses the content available on NightsBridge as added by each property. 
  • Content changes made on NightsBridge take 24 hours to update on TravelIT.
Payments
  • All TravelIT payments can only be processed on the day of departure using the information on the voucher provided to confirm the booking.

Invoicing
 
Vouchers
  • TravelIT will send you an email with the voucher to process payment once a booking has been confirmed. 
  • If you do not receive the email, you can download the voucher. Please look at our tutorial called TravelIT: How to download a voucher should you need guidance.
Refunds

 
  • The property should refund TravelIT via NightsBridge.
  • TravelIT will refund the agent.
Countries
  • South Africa.
Admin fee
  • 10% (including VAT)
Rates
 
  • NightsBridge provides the RACK Rates available on your NightsBridge Setup to TravelIT
  • VAT and commission payable to TravelIT must be included in your rates.
Corporate allowances
Specials and packages
  • Should you choose, you can load and link Specials and Packages to TravelIT via your NightsBridge Setup.
  • Please note that Specials and Package rates will have the 10% admin fee charged on top of the discount.
Policies
  • The policies set up on NightsBridge are automatically applied to bookings made via TravelIT.

    • Minimum length stay

  • By connecting to TravelIT through NightsBridge, you agree to a flexible cancellation policy.

  • Because TravelIT is mainly booked for corporate travelers, travel arrangements may change at short notice.
    If you manage to resell a room cancelled by TravelIT, please consider not enforcing your cancellation policy.
    We encourage this flexibility as this connection can yield many bookings, especially for properties close to business areas.
