What are corporate meal allowances?

Corporate meal allowances outline the meals you offer, beyond your standard meal plans. By offering corporate meal allowances, you're providing information meals that you could provide - making it easier for corporate travel agents and their clients to book confidently, knowing that you can assist with meals.

Please look at our article on How to set up corporate allowances for corporate clients for more information.

Why should I offer corporate meal allowances?

Corporate guests generally have their meals accounted for by their company. Corporate travel agents consider this and are more likely to book an establishment that can offer meal allowances.

What must I provide?

You don't need to prepare the meal!

Offering corporate meal allowances does not mean that you need to prepare the meals yourself. You could simply facilitate this by placing an order with a trusted service provider or perhaps establish an agreement with a nearby restaurant.

  • Lunch - consider offering:
    • a sandwich (perhaps a choice between two protein options)
    • two hand fruit
    • two soft drinks
  • Dinner
    • Consider using dine-in delivery apps (such as UberEats or Mr Delivery)
    • Establish a relationship with a nearby restaurant where the guest can sign the bill back to your property.

What options should I offer?

NightsBridge offers its corporate clients the ability to filter their searches according to meal allowances.

  • We suggest offering all the available meal options you can - this improves your chances of appearing within search results by corporate travel agents.

What is the value of the meal allowance

The agent making the booking determines the value of the meal allowance. When the travel agent books, they will indicate the guests budget is for each of the meal allowances booked.

Different corporate travellers have different budgets as decided by their company.

  • When catering or arranging for a meal, remember to stay within the allocated meal cost.
