How do I see how many people viewed my property on the Online Booking Channels?

This tutorial will explain how to find out how many people viewed your property on the online booking channels via the Hits/Statistics feature on the NightsBridge Owner's Login (WebView).

Hits/Statistics is aimed at providing you with an idea of how many people land on your property's online booking page and then proceed to book. It will also give you information on how many people visit the page, which sites they are trying to book on, how they use the booking form, and how many people end up making a confirmed online booking.

Please note that for extranet partner websites such as Agoda, Booking.com and Expedia, you will need to check your property's hits and statistics by logging into the extranet back office of the specific website, as NightsBridge is not provided with that information.

Select time period (month / year) for which you want to view Hits/Statistics from the drop-down menus

Hits/Statistics for the selected time period will be displayed

The various stages of the NightsBridge online booking process as shown on the Hits/Statistics page are as follows:

  • 1 - Arrived on Landing Page: Potential guest landed on the booking form to check availability.
  • 2 - Rates Shown: Dates have been selected and available room types appear for those dates.
  • 5 - Booking: Booking was made and confirmed.

If you would like to increase the conversion of potential guests who have checked availability and rates for certain dates to guests who have made and confirmed bookings online, you can always add a special or package with discounted rates in your NightsBridge Setup. The special or package will appear on your NightsBridge booking form and should help to increase bookings.

FAQ

  1. Why are my bookings total so low compared to the number of people landing on my page?
    • Not everyone who is going to land on your booking form will result in a booking, just like everyone that walks into a store will not necessarily buy something. Quite often, guests want to check availability, which rooms are available for a particular date and the price. From there they can proceed to view another property or contact the property directly to enquire.
    • The average conversion rate for bookings made online is 2% - 3%. NightsBridge clients can average between 2% - 5% depending on their location and season. The conversion percentage can be calculated by using the following formula:  
      number of bookings / number of people landing on the page = conversion rate.
  2. Why am I receiving more bookings through the extranets that the local websites?
    • The extranets generate the bulk of the bookings that our clients receive. They have bigger marketing budgets, they operate internationally and they have a larger number of establishments which is more beneficial for guests. The extranets also have booking links on TripAvisor, which is the largest travel website in the world and generates a lot traffic for the extranets.
    • Many of the local sites have the enquiry aspect of their website whereas extranets only have live availability.
  3. Why would my "rates shown" number be higher than the number of people landing on my own website?
    • This can occur when a guest checks availability for multiple date ranges, instead of just checking availability for one date range.
    • For example, the guest checks availability for arrival on the 1st of December - 3rd of December, the rooms that are available are not what they had in mind/not enough, so they change the dates to the 3rd of December - 5th of December. Since they have not left the booking form and come back, it will not register another hit for the landing page, but they have viewed the rates page on more than one occasion, so the "rate shown" will register more than one hit.
  4. Why do some sites not display on "arrival on landing page" or "rates shown"?
    • For websites that use our booking form, we can track everything such as who lands on the page and checks rates. However, for sites that use their own booking form, we can only track who checked availability and booked since that is when they accessed information from our server.
    • The extranets are a bit different, we can only display how many bookings were made. Since they do not access information from our server (i.e., we push R&A to their site), we will only know when a  booking is made instead of when availability is checked.
