How does PayBridge work?

PayBridge is a user-friendly and secure payment solution for processing in-house and online payments. It replaces a desktop credit card machine with a virtual online version.

A PayBridge application with the details of costs is available at the end of this article.

PayBridge Lite is not covered in this article.

Who should use PayBridge?

  • Properties in South Africa with a check-in procedure, that would like to take online credit card payments.

What can PayBridge be used for?

  • All online, offline and virtual card payments.

How does PayBridge work for deposits?

  • When a guest makes an online booking via credit card, PayBridge deducts the deposit payment as specified by the property.
  • The property receives an email indicating the amount processed according to the property's deposit policy.
  • If  the card was declined, the property also receives an email. The property should then send the guest the credit card link to attempt payment again. 
  • PayBridge makes payment to the property within 2/3 business days of the transaction.

How does PayBridge work for balance payments?

  • There is a credit card link available for the balance payment of each booking, online or manual.
  • The property can send a credit card link to the guest via email for the balance payment on checkout. This can include any extras included in the booking.
  • The credit card link can also be used for manual bookings (email, phone/walk-in) to take the deposit and balance payments.

What are the benefits of using PayBridge?

Automatic processing saves you time

  • Deposits are automatically deducted from the guest’s credit card before arrival (according to the property's deposit policy).
  • Virtual cards are automatically processed - no need for property staff to find card details, remind themselves to swipe on a certain day or work out which amount to enter.
  • No manual credit card payments needed, reducing a property's card security risk significantly.
  • An automated card payment link is available to send to the guest, to get the balance payment before arrival.
  • 3D secure check out link is available to take payment on check out.

Secure environment.

  • The credit card details are always stored securely in a vault after processing. Properties will not have the security risk of storing these numbers.
  • The credit card link is available for 3 days after sending it to the guest, after which it will be invalid, in order to protect the guest information.

3D Secure Link.

While not all channels can process 3D Secure transactions, we provide properties with:

  • Automatic redirect to 3D Secure payments from your NightsBridge booking form.
  • 3D Secure link for you to use for telephonic bookings.
  • 3D secure check out link is available to take payment on check out.
  • No additional authorisation documents are requested on 3D secure payments.

Reconciliation.

  • The property can track the payment details, card commission and bank fees on their Owners Login.
  • A statement of all transactions is available on the Owners Login each month.

Training and support.

  • Comprehensive training is done on activation.
  • Our support team is available for queries every step of the way (telephone/email/online chat).
