This tutorial will outline guideline to consider when deciding whether or not to include a web extra in the deposit deduction for bookings made on the NightsBridge booking engine.
Criteria for web extras,
The criteria is meant to help you choose the correct extras in your deposit, to reduce the chances of chargebacks.
You can choose to include a web extra to be charged as part of the deposit for bookings on your NightsBridge booking if you satisfy 1 or more of the following.
- Your property can ensure the availability of the web extra.
- Your property is responsible for taking payment for the web extra.
- Your property is responsible for providing the extra.
- The web extra is related to the guest's stay and experience.
Examples of extras that can be included.
- Airport transfers.
- If the you use a third-party, you’ll need to be the ones responsible for taking the payment then settle with the transfer company separately.
- Food.
- If the you have a restaurant on site, or
- If you have a deal with restaurant in your area - you would be responsible for taking the money and ensuring availability.
Examples of extras to not be included
- Curio shop items
- Web extras like ornaments aren’t suggested as they aren't the first thing guests think of adding as extras when booking accommodation.
- Activities.
- If you are not offering the activity and are also not responsible for taking payments.
