An iCal is an Internet (online) Calendar that is used to transfer information. An iCal is used for channels that do not have a direct connection to NightsBridge. The iCal link allows a channel to see if you have availability or not.
iCals are files which are formatted to enable the exchange of calendar information from one system to another.
How availability works?
- Your third-party calendar pulls availability from NightsBridge.
- The frequency of this update is set within the third-party calendar and so will differ between calendars. This may cause a delay in how often the availability is updated.
- This frequency is usually every 3-12 hours
How rates work?
- iCal links do not pull through your rates to channels.
- You will still need to load your rates manually on the third-party site.
How bookings work?
- Bookings which are made on your third-party calendar do not pull through to your NightsBridge calendar.
- NightsBridge will not receive the bookings made on these sites
- You need to manually capture your booking into your NightsBridge calendar. This makes sure you keep your availability updated on NightsBridge.
Due to the frequency of iCal pulls by various channels, availability is not instantly updated. We recommend you set your bookings to enquiry only. This will allow you enough time to confirm the correct inventory, preventing double bookings.
