Expedia - How to set up a Members Only Deal (MOD)

Members Only Deals (or MODs) are set up directly on Expedia to offer exclusive discounts to a select group of loyal and frequent travellers.

Why set up a Members Only Deal?

  • The Members Only Deal you set up is only visible to the members and is not displayed to the public or on meta sites.
  • Your property is highlighted with an exclusive badge to stand out from the crowd when members search on the group websites.
  • Adding a Members Only deal will boost your rankings in search results on Expedia and their affiliate sites. If you already have similar deals advertised on other platforms, make sure it reflects on Expedia too to avoid rate parity issues.

Here are the steps needed to create a MOD

Step 1: Once logged into your Expedia partner central you need to navigate to the Promotion option and then from the drop-down they need to select Promotions.

 

Step 2: Click on the Create a promotion button to begin creating.

Step 3. From the new window pop up, select Members only.

Step 4: All sections from the promotion setup need to be updated.

  • Audience (should be auto selected)
  • Offer (10% will be selected by default but can be adjusted)
  • Booking and Travel Dates will need to be updated
  • Promotion Name will be anything you use for your internal reference
  • Once the above is done you just need to click on the Create button at the bottom

What happens next?

The promotion will take about 30 minutes to process and you can track the promotion via the overview screen.
