What type of Special Rate Overrides can I set up?

This tutorial will give a brief breakdown of what kind of special rate overrides you can create and also give examples of scenarios of where these options might come in useful.

Open the Special Rate Overrides in Setup.

If you're not sure how to do this, please check this tutorial on how to find this section in the setup.

Click on "Add" in order to open the setup page for your new override.

You will see that you're able to create 3 different kinds of special overrides.

It's important to note that all these different types of special rate overrides are setup according to a % of your RACK or STO rate sheet. This is useful if you would like to override your daily rates according to a specific period of time and/or days of the week.

1. Always Valid

This type of special rate override will be used when you would like to override your rates for all dates during a specific period of time. The override will be valid irrespective of the amount of time before the arrival date of the guest.

2. Early Bird

This special rate override allows you to offer a discounted rate for guests who book well in advance so that you can start getting more bookings further in advance. The override will only be valid for guests who book a set amount of days BEFORE their arrival.

E.g: You can give your guests a 10% discount if they book 30 days or more from today.

3. Last Minute

You are able to also setup an override for bookings that are made in the "last minute", or number of days before their arrival. The purpose of this special rate override is to fill up the last available rooms so that you can maximize revenue.

E.g: You can give your guests a 10% discount if they book 3 days or less from today.
