How does CAPS work?

  • CAPS is a Channel Automated Payment System.
  • It processes payments and/or invoices for bookings from channels, mostly travel agents, tour operators and corporate bookings systems.
  • It is set to process payments and/or invoices after the bookings have been made rather than at the time of booking.

CAPS works in one of two different ways, depending on the channel where the booking comes from.

Automated payment processing and invoicing

This is the process for channels which use CAPS for both payment processing and invoicing:

  • Once a week, the channels checks which bookings were made via NightsBridge during that week.
  • The channel pays the total for all of the bookings (less their commission) over to NightsBridge's bank account in a batch.
  • We automatically disburse the individual payments to each property on a weekly basis. The amount is calculated by taking the total value of the booking less the commission percentage charged by the booking channel and includes VAT.
  • For each payment, NightsBridge will automatically create an invoice on behalf of you, the property, to the channel.
  • NightsBridge will forward the invoice to the channel for you.

Automated invoicing only

  • Payment is processed individually for each booking instead of in batches, usually via PayBridge.
  • When the payment is successful, CAPS generates the invoice and sends it to the agent.
  • A copy of this invoice is recorded in your Channel Invoices under Payments.
